RuneScape membership costs as little as £3.20/$5 per month. That's just 11p/17c a day!

  • Members' banks have more space - in fact, six times as much room to store all those desirable members-only items. There's also a Tool Leprechaun who will store your Farming tools and the Costume Room in player-owned houses to save even more space!
  • We update RuneScape almost every week, so there's always going to be plenty of new monsters to kill, items to collect, quests to complete, areas to explore and skills to work on. These range from the easy, low-level challenges you might be used to, right up to incredibly dangerous beasts like TzTok-Jad and the Kalphite Queen, or quests like Desert Treasure and Monkey Madness.
  • Gain access to an area more than twice the size of the free game. RuneScape isn't a small world by any stretch of the imagination: it's a vast world with dozens of cities and towns, thick forests, snow-capped mountains, scorching deserts and mist-filled lands crawling with the undead. Click here to see just how much bigger it is! Go on a gnomecopter tour in-game to get a sample of some of these amazing areas.

  • Monsters

Members don’t just get more monsters: they get the toughest, most dangerous beasts in the game! Killing these vicious creatures comes with rewards, too, and members can get some fantastic items, from dragon armour and weapons to useful training equipment. There are many other ways to get your hands on cool items.

  • Members can take on RuneScape's toughest boss monsters - the vicious King Black Dragon (level 276), the legendary Dagannoth Kings (303), the slimy Chaos Elemental (305), the creepy Kalphite Queen (333), and the mighty TzTok Jad (702)!
  • You don't need to be a master monster killer to get new monsters: with over 600 new types of monsters to kill, you're sure to find one (or ten!) at the right level for you.
  • Add in the Slayer monsters, quest bosses and all the rest, as well as the useful and valuable items you can get to help you, and you'll see just how much more there is to RuneScape.

  • TzTok Jad King Black Dragon
Think you've got what it takes to beat TzTok Jad...or even reach him? The King Black Dragon breathes ice, fire and poison! Be prepared, be very prepared.

    Items

Members gain access to a bewildering number of items - over 8000! These range from more types of food right up to impressively strong armour and powerful weapons. To accommodate all these great items, members also get more than six times more bank space than non-members!

  • Only members get access to dragon armour and weapons, Barrows sets, high-level weapons like crystal bows, granite mauls and abyssal whips, the Seercull, the Ancient Staff, the dragonfire shield, and many more.
  • If you want to take on the biggest, baddest monsters you'll need the best food and potions to keep your Hitpoints up. Monkfish heal 16, sharks restore 20 and wild pies can replenish 22 (as well as boosting your Slayer and Ranged skills!); Saradomin brew can dramatically boost your Hitpoints and Defence, and super strong weapon poison can weaken even the mightiest of foes!
  • Almost every update brings new and interesting items into the game. Whether you're interested in weapons to slay your enemies with or tools to help out your skills, there are always new items being added to improve your gaming experience.

  • Members' bank Third age armour in Lletya
Masses of bank space and items to fill it with. You'll need some of the best equipment you can get to take on the Mourning's Ends quests.

    Areas and Quests

Members get access to the whole of RuneScape, which just keeps getting bigger! We’re constantly adding new areas and new quests for our members to explore, and many of these come with new ways to train your skills and make money.

  • The free game only has a fraction of the area of the members’ version of RuneScape: train your Thieving in Ardougne; race around Agility courses across RuneScape; discover ancient secrets in the Kharidian Desert; explore Meiyerditch while evading vampyres; wander even deeper into the perils of the Wilderness…
  • Members get over 100 more quests, with plenty of experience and items on offer for successful adventurers. If you've done Dragon Slayer and think that's as hard as it gets, you might like to try your hand at Desert Treasure, Monkey Madness, Legends' Quest or One Small Favour. These all come with fantastic rewards - ranging from the ability to use dragon scimitars to an entirely new and powerful spellbook.
  • Not all of the members' quests are so tough, of course, and you can work your way up the difficulty levels, earning experience and winning new items as you go.

  • Meiyerditch Meeting Awowogei
Mired down in Meiyerditch. Watch out for those vyrewatch! There are monkeys galore in the Monkey Madness quest. Will they make a monkey out of you?

    Members' Skills

Members get more skills, and new skills are being developed all the time. Many of these help out your other skills or are a good way to earn money. On top of that, there are plenty more ways to train the skills you're used to!

  • From the instant you become a member, you'll gain access to 9 new skills: Agility, Construction, Farming, Fletching, Herblore, Hunter, Slayer, Summoning and Thieving.
  • You’ll get higher-level training options and lots of ways to use your skills to make money. From such simple bonuses as a wieldable harpoon to massive advantages like the ability to fletch your own bows and arrows, you can save time and money and pocket a tidy profit at the same time!
  • The Construction skill - with which members can build their own house - was released as recently as May 2006, Hunter was just released in October 2006, and Summoning, a massive new skill, was just given to our members in January 2008! In addition to these, there are plenty more skills in development.

  • Abyssal demon fight Farming patch
The higher level Slayer creatures - like the abyssal demon above - have some great item drops! Take a break from all that fighting with the relaxing and potentially lucrative Farming skill.

    Player-Owned Houses

The long-awaited Player-Owned Houses feature and the Construction skill to go with it - which lets players build their own house - were released at the end of May 2006 and RuneScape's members loved it from the start. It introduced a whole new aspect to the game, and many, many hours worth of gameplay. Would you like to own a little piece of RuneScape?

  • A basic starter home can be bought from an Estate Agent for as little as 1,000gp. You can even build your own dungeon or hire a maid or butler to do little jobs for you! When there is so much choice, where do you even start?
  • There are 19 different room types available to build, allowing you to create a very personalised space. Build it how you want it to look.
  • Invite your in-game friends around to your house for a friendly duel, a party, or just for a nice, relaxing cuppa and a chat, while sitting in front of a roaring fireplace.

  • Humble beginnings The study
There is so much potential for your house to fulfil. What will you choose to build? The study, just one of many extremely useful rooms, is full of wonders.

    Minigames

Members get access to all of RuneScape's minigames, which are a great way of making friends in-game. They're open to players of all levels and can involve each of the skills, as well as offering great rewards.

  • Castle Wars is one of RuneScape's most popular minigames and players of all levels can contribute to their team's success as winning is not just about combat. Will you be skilled enough to earn your gold-with-blue-trim decorative armour set?
  • There are minigames that cater for most skills: Brimhaven Agility Arena, the TzHaar Fight Cave and Fight Pit (Combat), Gnome Restaurant (Cooking), Fishing Trawler, Shades of Mort'ton (Firemaking and Prayer), Mage Arena, Ranging Minigame, Blast Furnace (Smithing), Pyramid Plunder (Thieving) and more...
  • Minigames also cater for the few - some only need one person (you!) - and for the many, which can be played by as many people as you can gather in one place at the same time!

  • Barrows Shades of Mort'ton
Take on the blighted Barrows Brothers and pinch their armour and weapon sets. Mmm, full Guthan's. Find some willing friends to help you to rebuild the temple, and ward off the shades.

    Community Support

Let's not forget that RuneScape is a massively multiplayer game, and that other players are a large part of the RuneScape experience, whether they are helping you out with quests, trading with you, teaming up with (or even against) you. Membership improves this in many ways.

  • There are loads of servers dedicated to members, so you should be able to find a peaceful world for some quiet time, or a world filled with people if you’re in the mood to socialise.
  • Members are free to discuss the game on the forums. The forums are a great place for merchanting items, discussing recent game updates (and making suggestions for future ones) and anything else you might care to chat about. We also use members' votes on the polls to help us make decisions about what to update, so you can even help decide how the game develops!
  • Members get priority for any billing or technical queries and any offence reports they choose to send us, so they're back in the game as soon as possible.
